This week: chicken causes power failure, no lights out for Berlin

This week started with us becoming a little (more?) famous as Singapore’s Strait Times wrote about our little airport-only trip in their Sunday issue. Aside from that it was an average airport related news week. We found news from Berlin, London and Hawaii for you.

This week: Harvey Milk SFO, Zurich clears the sky and more

This week has been another interesting one with quite a range of different airport news. Berlin got mentioned a couple times again, then San Francisco was in with an interesting and maybe slightly controversial idea, Stansted also had a busy week and Zurich was put to the test whilst Chicago received some disturbing freight.

This week: time-lapse art from San Diego, Munich Xmas market & more

This week must have been the calm before the Christmas storm as hardly any big airport stories surfaced. Don’t worry though, we found a few interesting ones nevertheless. Why? Because we know our loyal readers would appreciate it – plus, let’s be honest – there is always something going on if you look closely enough!

This week: an unusual auction, fog and strike

It was a semi-busy airport week, this one. But, as always, it depends how you actually define “busy”. Surely the news kept flowing in in similar rates, but we didn’t see as much drama as in previous weeks. We think, that’s a good thing, of course. We still managed to find you some real jewels though. Let’s call them out: fog, strike, staff training and an airport sell out – sounds interesting?

This week: Easter strikes predicted & 200 thefts daily at JFK

Time flies; it’s already Sunday again here in Melbourne and with that time for another weekly airport news round-up. This week we saw – surprise, surprise – more strike news (but don’t worry, it wasn’t the chocolate bunnies that went on strike…), an article about stolen goods and a pilot that freaked out mid-flight.

This week: Ice Age in Europe, Super Bowl congestion and Bieber’s apology

Wow, what a big week for LateDeparture this one was! On Monday we announced the winner story from our Airport News of the Year award voting process. As you probably heard by now, the story about Jack the Cat who was lost at the JFK airport won the title. Subsequently many of you commented on the sad fate of Jack and reinforced on your views about who was to blame. If the award did one thing, then it showed that some airlines still have a long way to go in regards to handling incidents like this one.
