LHR London Heathrow

London Heathrow airport is the worlds busiest airport and probably also the worlds most congested. Until it opened the new Terminal 5, London Heathrow was an set of outdated terminals all far too small for the amount of passengers. Despite the drama about the opening of the shiny new, BA exclusive, Terminal 5, it surely brings a modern light to London’s westerly airport and is actually fairly well designed, at least for departing passengers.

But even with a full modernisation, Heathrow can’t get more effective with the current number of flights and it’s only two runways. Capacity for landing and departing aircrafts are fully maxed out which means delays whenever something is out of the ordinary (e.g. strong winds, George W. Bush visiting Britain, and so on). So, be prepared when travelling through Heathrow and expect delays.
